The Local Area

There’s plenty to see and do in Gargrave and the surrounding area.

The Pennine Way passes directly past our front door, but if it’s not the serious kind of walk you are looking for, then there’s plenty of local walks that take you through the pleasent countryside that surrounds the village.

If golf is your passion then try out one of the several courses within close proximity that welcome guests. Fishing is also an option with the River Aire only meters from the pub and the Leeds Liverpool canal running through the village.

Horse riding is available with several stables offering trekking locally.

If you want to head out of the village we are only a few hundred yards from Gargrave train station (located on the Settle to Carlisle railway line) and a few hundred yards from the main bus stop in the village.

If you jump in your car then you will find Malham, Skipton and Grassington just a 10 minute drive away.

With it’s great public transport connections and central locality to all many of the Yorkshire Dale’s top tourist attractions, The Masons Arms is a great base for your stay.
